LSN is inviting organisations to bid for 8000 pounds funding to run a Triple Science network from May 2010 to March 2011. The closing date for application is 7 May.

The Triple Science Support Programme is delivered by LSN on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to support curriculum heads, managers and teachers as they plan, develop and deliver Triple Science GCSEs. The government aims to allow students to study GCSE biology, chemistry and physics by 2014, and has set itself a target that all state maintained schools (including academies) should provide Triple Science GCSEs by 2014.

Networks managed by LSN have been a particularly successful way of raising the profile of Triple Science GCSEs across England. Since the Triple Science Support Programme began in 2007, LSN has supported over 130 successful networks to improve teaching and learning, and help schools preparing to deliver Triple Science GCSEs.

A range of activities has been delivered by LSN over the years, and network activity has proved to be a highly effective model for delivering the aims of the programme.

Money is available to fund two types of network between May 2010 and March 2011.
