Developing capability in pupils through Design and Technology and Engineering

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED. WE HAVE RESCHEDULED FOR THE END OF SEPTEMBER WITH THE EXACT DATE TO FOLLOW SHORTLY.

Royal Academy of Engineering, London

The STEM Advisory Forum's next face-to-face conference is focused on Developing capability in pupils through D&T and Engineering. The conference is in association with the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Design and Technology Association.

As educators, we all want our pupils to develop capability: the internal sense that they will be successful in their endeavours because they have been successful with something similar before.

This seminar gives you the chance to hear design and engineering professionals, design & technology teachers, school senior leadership and innovation experts present their views on education for capability.

This seminar offers the chance for the design & technology community to give voice to the significant contribution the subject can make to the National STEM Programme:

  • by putting the D for design into STEM
  • by articulating the unique contribution design & technology has for ALL pupils
  • by clarifying the relationship between professional practice of designers, technologists and engineers and the teaching and learning in design& technology and engineering programmes in school
  • Through debating the emerging issues we can refresh a vision for D&T that can be used to persuade influential stakeholders in government, industry and education of the value of design & technology and engineering in the school curriculum.

This event is invitation only but we do have a waiting list should places become available. To register your interest please contact Gemma Marlowe by clicking on the link below:
